Hatha Yoga - Science of Body, Mind & Soul

A Hatha Yoga class usually lasts between 75-90 minutes. A class consists of breathing techniques, warming-up, yoga asanas (poses/stretching), concentration, positive thinking and deep relaxation.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a complete science of self-discipline. Yoga balances, harmonizes, purifies, and strengthens the Body, Mind and Soul of the practitioner. It shows the perfect peace with one's Self, the world, nature, and a higher sense. Millions of people have begun to practice Yoga through the application of simple, time-tested and fun techniques.

These are the 5 principles of Yoga, which can be easily incorporated into everyone's own pattern of life:

1) Proper excercise (Asanas)

2) Proper breathing (Pranayama)

3) Proper relaxiation (Savasana)

4) Proper diet (Ahimsa)

5) Positive thinking & meditation (Dharana & Dhyana)

"Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one's being, from bodily health to self realization. Yoga means union - the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day to day life and endows skill in the performance of one's actions."
B.K.S. Iyengar
